Overview

DHL Supply Chain is a global leader in contract logistics, operating over 500 facilities with more than 50,000 dedicated associates. As a General Manager at DHL Supply Chain, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouses.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Strategist to oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within DHL Supply Chain and contribute to our renowned reputation as a global leader in contract logistics.

Responsibilities

Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, including managing receiving, storage, and shipping processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support as needed, while also developing a strong team culture.Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, overseeing operational and personnel activities in the facility to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.Tech-Savviness: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective services and supplies while managing the site in accordance with commercial agreements.Performance Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.Customer Engagement: Lead customer relationships by maintaining close daily contact to ensure strong connections and customer satisfaction.Site Profitability: Responsible for the site's profit and loss (P&L), which is directly influenced by customer relationships.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years managerial/supervisory experience required.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing or distribution environment required.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics, staff management, P&L management, project management, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience preferred.
