Highly Skilled IT Specialist for Complex System Support

As a Senior Application Support Analyst with Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of major systems and related subsystems. Your expertise will be crucial in resolving complex technical issues and identifying emerging problems to prevent them from escalating.
In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative IT solutions. You will apply your seasoned knowledge and experience to perform various assignments, including investigating and resolving medium- to highly-complex technical issues, proactively identifying emerging issues, and making recommendations on process improvements.
Your responsibilities will also include coaching members of L1 and L2 teams, actively participating in Agile development projects, and working on IT Risk deliverables. You will need to have experience with operating systems, including multiple operating systems and integration of processing across different platforms.
A strong understanding of UNIX and shell scripting skills, including reading, understanding, modifying, and writing non-trivial UNIX shell scripts, is also essential. Relational databases knowledge, job scheduling software knowledge, and data transformation understanding are also required. Additionally, a foundational understanding of sound operating system and file system security practices on UNIX and Windows platforms is necessary.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum (dependent on location and experience).
