About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Specialist to join our Asset Management team at WEL Networks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal balance between asset lifecycle cost and network reliability.

As a Substation Asset Manager, you will have asset ownership of the key asset class substation equipment for our network. You will be responsible for developing asset strategy, maintenance plans, digital twins, and CBRM analysis, reviewing network data, setting maintenance standards, and investigating failures.

Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent qualification) and a minimum of three years' experience in a substation environment working on long-life assets. You will also have knowledge of and experience in the application of relevant acts, regulations, and codes of practice that govern our industry.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings a collaborative approach to problem-solving and sharing knowledge. A holistic and proactive approach to safety, health, and wellbeing is also essential. You will be part of a small, collaborative team that is increasing its skill sets to address the decarbonisation challenge facing NZ.
