Job Summary

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a skilled Machinist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our repair facility, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various conventional machine tools to repair or modify components and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair or machine tools needed for our repair facility
  • Work alongside tool designers for custom jigs and fixtures used in our repair processes to support machine operations
  • Work with our in-house maintenance department for repairs and solutions to breakdowns
  • Diagnose repairs and assist in steps to completing machining techniques to acquire conforming parts
  • Day-to-day organization of upcoming jobs with our repair planners to provide on-time deliveries
  • Accurately complete all appropriate process documentation, including product travelers, inspection plans/reports, critical dimension check sheets, etc.
  • Actively participate and promote continuous improvement of machining technique and processes

Requirements

  • Red Seal Machinist Certification/Tool and Die (or equivalent experience)
  • High level of personal integrity/ethics
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Minimum 10 years' experience working in a repair or manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of blueprint reading and tolerancing using GD&T
  • High level of accuracy in machining with the ability to hit tolerances up to +/- 0.0005
  • Aerospace and CMM experience considered an asset
