About the Role

Niijaansinaanik Child and Family Services is a culturally responsive organization that provides holistic services to children, youth, and families. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an After-Hours Service Worker.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide after-hours and weekend crisis services to respond to allegations of child maltreatment and provide immediate protective services when required.
  • Defuse crises and stabilize events that occur outside of regular Agency hours until cases can be assumed by regular day staff.
Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Social Work degree or Community College Diploma in Social Services.
  • Two years' direct experience in a social services agency.
  • Knowledge of Niijaansinaanik Child and Family Services programs and services.
  • Respect for and knowledge of Anishinabek culture, traditions, and the Seven Grandfather teachings.
  • Knowledge of First Nation service delivery, customs, and traditions in responding to child welfare.
  • Knowledge of traditional practices, ceremonies, and teachings.
  • Must provide a clear Police Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Must have a Class 'G' Ontario Driver's License, access to a vehicle, and the ability to travel.
  • Must have $1M automobile insurance.
  • Must provide a three-year uncertified drivers abstract.
