Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver Assistant to join our Home Support team at Northwood in Victoria County. As a Caregiver Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and laundry, to maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients.
  • Prepare meals for clients, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Provide respite care for families and caregivers, offering a much-needed break and allowing them to recharge.
  • Document client progress, concerns, and incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Perform other tasks as required, such as running errands or assisting with daily living activities.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for this role.
  • A Continuing Care Assistant Certificate, Personal Care Worker Certificate, or current PLAR candidate status is necessary.
  • International students in Canada with a nursing degree or nursing/LPN students currently enrolled in a program may also apply.
  • Students of the Continuing Care Assistant Program who are about to complete the program are also eligible to apply.
  • Completion of Standard First Aid and CPR C is required.
  • Alzheimer/Dementia care course completion is also necessary.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical skills are required for this role.
