We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Port Hawkesbury Paper. As a key member of our engineering and maintenance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the maintenance department during day-to-day maintenance, major maintenance projects, and shutdowns.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance precision maintenance techniques and equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose problems and implement solutions using technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Coordinate equipment overhauls and project implementation with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Interface with consulting engineers, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (PEng preferred) with a minimum of three years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or related industrial environment.
  • Previous maintenance experience, particularly in a highly technical and production-oriented workplace, is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing and Condition Monitoring Techniques is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to manage through teamwork and influence, with a high energy level and solid decision-making skills.
