We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions. As a key member of our interprofessional healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, quality patient-centered care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care to patients with mental health and addiction issues. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, provide education and support to patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to patients with mental health and addiction issues
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide education and support to patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Active NVCI
  • Working knowledge of CBT, DBT, and Trauma Informed Care
  • Knowledge of mental health diagnosis, symptomology, and related treatment interventions
  • Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and psychopathology
