About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Wound Prevention and Management Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating facility and unit-based pressure injury initiatives. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based practices to prevent pressure injuries and promote a culture of safety and quality care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pressure injury prevention and management, with a minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience in a related field. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. A working knowledge of best practices for pressure injury prevention and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development are essential.

This is a long-term assignment, full-time position (75 hours bi-weekly) with a competitive hourly rate of $35.11. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses
  • Current LPN registration (in good standing) with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical experience within the last 5 years in an area with exposure to pressure injury prevention and management practices
  • BLS-C (HCP) certification
  • Working knowledge of best practices for pressure injury prevention
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal and communication skills in varied contexts
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovative problem-solving
  • Skilled in the facilitation of practice development
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and computer documentation systems
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
