Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dog Grooming Establishment Director to join our team at Puptown Girls Dog Lounge and Spa. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and controlling daily operations, evaluating daily operations, and planning and organizing daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and Control Daily Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the dog grooming establishment, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the performance of the dog grooming establishment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to achieve the goals and objectives of the dog grooming establishment.
  • Establish or Implement Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies and procedures for staff, ensuring that they are fair, equitable, and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Plan and Control Budget and Inventory: Develop and manage the budget and inventory of the dog grooming establishment, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively.
  • Hire, Train, and Supervise Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Address Customers' Complaints or Concerns: Respond to customers' complaints or concerns, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Recruit Newcomers and/or Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, providing them with opportunities for employment and integration into the community.
    • Support Newcomers and/or Refugees with Foreign Credential Recognition: Assist newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition, ensuring that their qualifications are recognized and valued.
    • Offer Mentorship Programs: Develop and implement mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support.
    • Provide Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Develop and implement diversity and cross-cultural training programs, ensuring that all employees have the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
    • Do Not Require Canadian Work Experience: Ensure that newcomers and/or refugees do not require Canadian work experience, providing them with opportunities for employment and integration into the community.
    Support for Indigenous People
    • Offer Mentorship, Coaching, and/or Networking Opportunities: Develop and implement mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, providing them with guidance and support.
    • Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, ensuring that they are valued and respected.
    • Provide Cultural Competency Training: Develop and implement cultural competency training programs, ensuring that all employees have the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in an Indigenous context.
    • Facilitate Access to Elders: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers, providing them with traditional knowledge and wisdom.
    Supports for Visible Minorities
    • Apply Hiring Policies: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and equitably.
    • Offer Mentorship Programs: Develop and implement mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees, providing them with guidance and support.
    • Provide Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Develop and implement diversity and cross-cultural training programs, ensuring that all employees have the skills and knowledge required to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
    • Work Term: Permanent: Ensure that members of visible minorities have access to permanent employment opportunities, providing them with stability and security.
    • Work Language: English: Ensure that members of visible minorities have access to English language training and support, providing them with the skills and knowledge required to communicate effectively in the workplace.
    • Hours: 40 hours per week: Ensure that members of visible minorities have access to 40 hours of work per week, providing them with a stable and secure work schedule.
