Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Financial Advisor to join our team of experienced professionals. As a Senior Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of clients, building relationships, creating comprehensive financial plans, and providing exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement

    You will prioritize client experiences and establish personal relationships to make every interaction significant. You will provide trusted investment advice and create personalized financial plans to enhance existing relationships. You will cultivate your network to establish new relationships with clients.

  • Business Growth

    You will thoroughly understand your local market and potential clients to create a comprehensive sales plan that converts leads into new clients. You will leverage your strong relationship-building and networking skills to establish relationships, create business opportunities, and achieve concrete results. You will utilize CIBC's extensive range of credit and investment solutions to offer a needs-based approach that will result in loyal and satisfied clients, and increased referrals.

  • Experience

    You will have one and a half to three years of experience in a financial advisor role, managing and developing your own portfolio of clients.

  • Professional Designations

    You will be a registered professional (OCRCVM). You will have a current and compliant registration meeting the OCRCVM registration requirements; you will have passed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) within the last three years; you will be required to pass the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) course, the Essentials of Wealth Management (EWM) course, and the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) course within 24 months of starting employment.

  • Professional Designations (Québec)

    You will have a current and compliant registration for the AMF permit, have passed the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) or the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) to obtain the AMF permit, and hold the Certified Retirement Advisor (CRA) designation. Passing the Placements and Taxation – Québec (0774) and Aspects Juridiques et Éthiques de la Planification Financière (0790) courses from CSI and ICB will be an asset.

  • Professional Designations (OCRCVM, Ontario)

    You will have a current and compliant registration meeting the OCRCVM registration requirements; you will have passed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) within the last three years; you will be required to pass the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) course, the Essentials of Wealth Management (EWM) course, and the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) course within 24 months of starting employment. You will have obtained or intend to obtain before starting employment the Designated Financial Services Advisor (DFSA) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
