Job Summary

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for API and DevOps at Tangerine Bank, you will play a critical role in driving quality and excellence in our feature delivery. You will be responsible for developing and implementing testing strategies, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Testing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the quality of our APIs and software applications.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with Tangerine's test methodologies and industry best practices, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, PMO, Release Management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and execution.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assess risks associated with development aspects of each solution/project and define approaches for testing, including manual versus automation testing.
  • Test Metrics and Analysis: Collect and analyze strategic, technical, and operational test metrics to inform predictive analysis and drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge Repository Maintenance: Maintain and update Tangerine's Quality Engineering knowledge repository to ensure access to relevant information and best practices.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in API automation using tools like RestAssured.
  • A University or College degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of testing experience in the capacity of Software Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge of testing background in the Canadian financial services industry.
  • Experience working within both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with test planning and management process and tooling such as JIRA, X-Ray, Micro focus, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in API REST/SOAP testing and automation using industry-standard tooling like REST Assured, Postman, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tooling like Selenium, Appium, WebdriverIO, or equivalent.
  • Working experience with Mobile testing (iOS/Android devices) and related solutions.
  • Experience working within a DevOps environment and understanding of CI/CD process and related tooling like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.
