Job Summary

Melloy Industrial Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transaction Management
    • Collect, reconcile, and process project-related trade contractor payments, general expenditures, and internal payroll costing allocations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all financial transactions to meet contract payment terms.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Review and analyze adjustments, submissions, and reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis to the project team as required.
  • Financial Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure all required documentation, including insurance, bonding, and statutory declarations, is in place.
    • Identify and communicate compliance and project risks to the project team and accounting management.
  • Financial Auditing and Compliance
    • Assemble information for internal and external audits.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
    • 1-2 years of progressive experience with direct project administration and accounting in the construction or a related industry.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting.
    • Intermediate understanding of project forecasting and budgeting.
    • Intermediate knowledge of project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to travel and work on job sites across Alberta.
