We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Grocery Clerk to join our team at Mac Neil's Your Independent Grocer. As a Grocery Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring that our shelves are fully stocked and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct customers to the location of articles sought
  • Unpack products received by the store and count, weigh, or sort items
  • Order stock and maintain inventory levels
  • Stock shelves and display areas, ensuring that products are facing forward and at eye level
  • Keep stock clean and in order, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed
  • Price items using a stamp or stickers according to the price list
  • Operate an electric palette jack to move stock around the store
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
Work Environment:

As a Grocery Clerk, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks. You will be required to stand for extended periods and move around the store to perform your duties. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.

Requirements:
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized and reliable, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Permanent work term, 30-40 hours per week
  • English language proficiency
