Job Title: Grocery Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our team at Giant Tiger. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a high level of customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately record customer transactions, manage cash handling, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Replenish merchandise, maintain planograms, and ensure accurate pricing and labeling.
  • Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory levels, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals, maintain a positive and respectful work environment, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge, and contribute to the success of the store team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, receiving deliveries, and maintaining store appearance.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks, including cash handling, inventory management, and customer service, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and management.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, up to 24 hours per week.
  • Ability to lift up to 18 kg (40 lbs) and perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
