Senior Prosecutor

Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Prosecutor to join the Economics Crime Unit in the Specialized Prosecutions Office in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for prosecuting complex and sophisticated cases involving economic crimes, including corporate fraud, securities fraud, and mass-marketing fraud.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional litigation skills, a strong knowledge of lawful access issues, and the ability to work effectively with victims of crimes and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Prosecute complex cases involving economic crimes
• Provide advice and counsel to the police at the pre-charge stage
• Work with victims of crimes and their families
• Develop and implement strategies to prosecute complex cases

Requirements

• LL.B. or equivalent degree
• Admission to the Alberta Bar
• 5+ years of experience as a prosecutor
• Exceptional litigation skills
• Strong knowledge of lawful access issues
