About the Role
The Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Economist or Senior Economist to join its International Economic Analysis Department. As a key member of the team, you will play a central role in producing timely and impactful research and near-term forecasts of global economic activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of macroeconomic developments in advanced and emerging market economies
- Develop and maintain monitoring tools and models to track global economic trends
- Collaborate with colleagues to advance the Department's research agenda and contribute to the Bank's monetary policy function
- Prepare written analyses and briefings for senior management and the Governing Council
Requirements
- Master's degree in economics or finance with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in macroeconomics or econometrics
- Advanced knowledge of macroeconomics, sound econometric skills, and ability to conduct applied economic research
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to a broad range of audiences
