Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food items, including clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs, and portioning and wrapping foods.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports persons with disabilities, and provide physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, and auditory accessibility accommodations.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, and assist with immediate settlement needs, support social and labour market integration, and recruit newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Youth: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment, offer on-the-job training, and provide mentorship and coaching opportunities.
  • Support for Veterans: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans, offer mentorship and coaching opportunities, and provide awareness training to employees.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, offer mentorship and coaching opportunities, and provide cultural competency training.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers, apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, and provide phased retirement options.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities, apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
