About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Subway. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation, including portioning and wrapping food items
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and sweep, mop, and polish floors
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit
  • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports persons with disabilities
  • Provides physical accessibility accommodations, visual accessibility accommodations, and auditory accessibility accommodations
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
