We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished Senior Accountant to join our team in Canada, driving financial excellence across the organization. This senior-level role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your extensive experience and expertise.

About the Role

In this critical position, you will play a pivotal part in meeting deadlines established weekly and monthly (A/R, Payroll, Accruals, Financial Statements, Operations) and liaising with plant departments to understand costs; providing advice as appropriate.

  1. Meet Deadlines and Provide Insights: Compile billing information provided from Operations Supervisors each week and create customer invoices based on data provided by production managers, preparing a weekly cash forecast for Treasury.
  2. Financial Statement Preparation: Complete month-end financial statements, variance analysis, and journal entries, along with preparation of the summary of weekly and monthly billing for Corporate.
  3. Budget Development and Forecasting: Assist the Controller with development of the annual budget and reforecast for the plant location, while developing and implementing a monthly forecast methodology.
  4. Internal and External Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit preparation and complete monthly account reconciliations.
  5. Accounts Receivable Management: Prepare accounts receivable invoicing and maintain contact with customers on collection of outstanding invoices, verifying accounts receivable match contract language, and analyzing and identifying anticipated financial results.
  6. Process Improvement: Propose and implement process improvements, adopting a sense of continuous improvement.

This is a remote-based position that requires strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to work with all internal and external stakeholders. We offer a competitive salary range of $75,500-$86,500 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Your Key Qualifications
  1. Education: A degree in Finance or Accounting, combined with a CPA designation.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting role in a business environment.
  3. Skills: Exceptional communication and organizational skills, including the ability to work with all internal and external stakeholders. Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  4. Certifications: SAP Experience is an asset.
