As an Industrial Mechanic at IPG, you will play a critical role in the production process by performing regular maintenance and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment. You will be the go-to person for issues with production lines, equipment, and other machines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily machinery checks to ensure optimal performance
  • Clean and lubricate machinery to prevent wear and tear
  • Correct issues with machinery and equipment to minimize downtime
  • Remove and replace defective parts to maintain production efficiency
  • Install new machinery and equipment to support production growth
  • Educate production workers on preventative maintenance techniques
  • Prepare maintenance reports to track equipment performance
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed
  • General machining and repair work
  • Suggest future repairs and maintenance to improve production efficiency
  • Create requests for parts and supplies to support maintenance activities
Qualifications and Skills
  • Interprovincial Qualification (Red Seal) is required
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Mechanical and technical skills, including precision machining, welding, and fabrication
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and problem-solve malfunctions
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with plastics or converting machinery is an asset
  • Work planning and continuous improvement experience is an asset
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • A good sense of risk management
  • Ability to work flexible and on-call shifts
