Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Applications to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Technology and Operations division, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of high-performing applications that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development and delivery of mission-critical SOC1/SOX applications and productivity tools.
  • Direct the work scope, schedule, and resources of the development teams.
  • Make architectural decisions for all relevant applications in line with the agreed strategy and roadmap.
  • Shape the future technology direction of Finance IT, including front, middle, and back office applications.
  • Ensure the stability, performance, production, compliance, roadmap strategy, and development initiatives for applications in the portfolio.
  • Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of IBM Planning Analytics/TM1, Oracle, PCMCS, Big Data, and Full Stack Programming products.
  • Good understanding of Enterprise Performance Management concepts, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Consolidation, and Cost Allocations.
  • Infrastructure knowledge, including Client/Server, SaaS, Mainframe, and DevOps.
  • Experience with multitier system development for large enterprises and strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience managing, motivating, and providing mentorship to resources on high-performing IT Development Teams.
