About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, part of Alberta Health Services. This exciting role will see you working in various ultrasound departments, conducting a range of standardized and complex services to diagnose and monitor diseases.

Job Summary

This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing patients for examinations, reviewing medical histories, interpreting procedures, capturing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images, and taking initial steps to address abnormal findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations, review medical histories, and interpret procedures
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images
  • Take initial steps to address abnormal findings
  • Assist in diagnosis, clinical interventions, and patient management
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program
  • Active registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Preferred Qualifications

We also value candidates with good decision-making skills, capable of showing initiative and maintaining a cooperative and flexible attitude. Experience working independently and effectively with others in a wide variety of clinical and educational situations is a plus.
