Job Title: Class 3 Residential Driver

GFL Environmental is seeking a reliable and skilled Class 3 Residential Driver to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia. As a key member of our waste management team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting residential waste and recyclables, transporting them to post-collection facilities, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a commercial vehicle and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned routes, working away from the branch location on a continuous basis throughout the day.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner, and appearance at all times, meeting customers and/or the general public while on route or in uniform.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatchers.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.
  • Ability to control operations of equipment, maneuvering the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet or more.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets, and other documentation requested by supervisors daily.
  • Follow all safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions in performance of all duties, complying with all federal, state/provincial, local, and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.
Requirements:
  • Possess a valid Commercial Class 3 Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsements and a clear driver's abstract.
  • Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
  • Industry experience is an asset.
