They will collect solid waste or recyclables and transport them to post-collection facilities. A successful candidate will have a friendly demeanor and be physically capable of completing job duties in a positive, team-oriented, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned routes. Work routes are away from the branch location on a continuous basis throughout the day.

• Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner, and appearance at all times (i.e., meeting customers and/or the general public while on route or in uniform).

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatchers.

• Ability to follow instructions and work under limited supervision.

• Ability to control operations of equipment; maneuvering trucks into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back distances of approximately 120 feet or more.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck reports, route sheets, and other documentation requested by supervisors daily.

• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state/provincial, local, and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.

Requirements:

• Possess a valid Commercial Class 3 Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsements and a clear driver's abstract.

• Minimum one (1) year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.

• Industry experience is an asset.
