About This Position

Windsor Medical Clinic, a private practice located in Nova Scotia, is seeking a dedicated family physician to fill a locum position. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic and supportive environment while covering a leave from our regular physician.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough examinations of patients and take their medical histories, ordering necessary diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures as required.
  • Advise patients on healthcare matters, health promotion, and disease prevention strategies.
  • Consult with other medical professionals and refer patients as necessary.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met and concerns addressed.
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, vaccinations, and inoculations according to established protocols.
  • Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents as per Nova Scotia Public Health regulations.

Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) is also required.
  • Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is essential.
About Our Practice

Windsor Medical Clinic operates on a Monday-to-Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a full support staff including administrators and an LPN. We do not offer evening, weekend, or on-call hours, ensuring a healthy work-life balance for our physicians. With no walk-in clinics and a focus on private practice, we prioritize quality patient care and relationships.
