Firmware Designer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Firmware Designer to contribute to the development of robust and high-performance firmware solutions for our client.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the innovation and success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Firmware Design & Development:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define firmware requirements for various electronic devices and systems.
    • Architect, design, and implement optimized firmware solutions using languages like C, Python, and assembly.
    • Work on real-time systems, communication protocols, device drivers, and control algorithms to ensure seamless performance.
  • Testing, Debugging & Optimization:
    • Lead the testing and verification of firmware to meet and exceed quality standards.
    • Use advanced debugging techniques to troubleshoot and optimize firmware performance, ensuring reliability across all devices.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Create clear and comprehensive documentation of designs, test results, and progress updates to support ongoing projects.
    • Maintain detailed records that facilitate smooth collaboration and troubleshooting.
  • Team Collaboration & Communication:
    • Act as a key liaison between hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, ensuring fluid communication across departments.
    • Clearly convey technical challenges, design decisions, and project milestones to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Innovation & Growth:
    • Stay at the forefront of the latest trends in firmware development and integrate emerging technologies into your work.
    • Commit to continuous improvement by refining your skills and contributing to the growth of the firmware design team.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems.
    • Expertise in microcontrollers, RTOS, and low-level programming is highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in C, Python, and assembly, as well as experience with debugging tools, version control systems, and IDEs.
    • Strong understanding of real-time systems, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C), and device drivers. Experience with portable power management and wireless data communications (infrared, RF, BLE) is a plus.
    • Proven ability to work alongside hardware teams to ensure seamless integration.
    • Excellent analytical skills to resolve complex issues and optimize code for peak performance.
    • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate and present technical insights.
