Job Summary:

The Deli Clerk is a key member of our Thrifty Foods team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a positive shopping experience. As a Deli Clerk, you will be the face of our store, interacting with customers, answering questions, and providing recommendations on our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process customer deli orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Participate in the training of junior staff, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company standards and protocols.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with regular breaks and flexibility in scheduling.
