Overview

Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental site assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects in Ontario. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of projects safely and efficiently, delivering cost-effective solutions that meet client expectations.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in managing assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring projects for oil and gas clients, preferably in a consulting environment
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional organization is a plus
  • Experience in project management in upstream oil and gas projects is an asset
  • Strong client management and communication skills are essential
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, specifically technical report writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with municipalities, First Nation communities, and other government entities

Responsibilities

Execute project requirements, cost control, and project scoping, field work, and reporting documentation

  • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Plan and conduct Phase II ESAs, including drilling, soil sampling, and groundwater monitoring
  • Participate in investigations related to environmental incidents (spills)
  • Build internal and external relationships to effectively develop and manage projects
  • Coordinate with internal project managers and environmental technical discipline leads for timely project execution

Location

This position will be based in Sarnia, Ontario, with some travel.
