Job Title: Intermediate Environmental Scientist

Vertex Resource Group is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Ontario. As an Intermediate Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in the execution of environmental site assessments, remediation, and reclamation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Plan and conduct drilling, soil sampling, and groundwater monitoring
  • Participate in investigations related to environmental incidents (spills)
  • Build relationships with regulators, clients, and internal stakeholders to effectively manage projects
  • Coordinate with project managers and technical leads to ensure timely execution of project deliverables
  • Lead specific tasks and projects related to field supervision
  • Mentor and coach junior field staff
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in managing assessment, reclamation, remediation, and monitoring projects for oil and gas clients
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional organization is a strength
  • Experience in project management in upstream oil and gas projects is an asset
  • Strong client management and communication skills
  • Superior technical report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
