Job Opportunity: EHS Programs Specialist

Aecon is seeking an experienced EHS Programs Specialist to support the organization's EHS Subcontractor Management program. The successful candidate will ensure the effective implementation of the program across the organization, assist in the coordination of COR auditing activities, and administer the EHS Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary liaison for EHS prequalification accounts and systems.
  • Support sectors and sector prequalification administrators with subcontractor prequalification processes.
  • Provide training on prequalification systems and coordinate 3rd party training.
  • Act as primary point of contact with subcontractor management system vendor.
  • Verify subcontractor management status periodically.
  • Coordinate subcontractor exemption requests and escalate subcontractor-related issues.
  • Administer and maintain Aecon's Internal Prequalification System.
  • Develop recommendations for enhancing the subcontractor prequalification process.
  • Support sector teams in COR audit coordination.
  • Maintain database of corrective actions from audit activities.
  • Support the development of EHS management system procedures and work instructions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the EHS field.
  • Previous experience in ISN subcontractor prequalification system.
  • Experience in developing EHS-related procedures and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of construction-related regulations.
  • Familiarity with COR auditing is an asset.
  • Familiarity with construction terminology.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and be proactive.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with various software programs for training delivery.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with Business Objects/Business Intelligence software is an asset.
