Job Title: Host/Hostess

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to join our team at Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience that sets the tone for their visit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of the restaurant, ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.
  • Process reservations and plan guest seating arrangements.
  • Assist servers with food and beverage expediting, bussing, and cleaning.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with guests and responding to their needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality or food service industry, preferably in a host/hostess role.
  • Cash handling experience using a POS system or cashier register.
  • Tourism, promotion, marketing, entertainment, or event training experience is an asset.
  • Serving It Right (BC)/Proserve (Alberta) certificate or Smart Serve (Ontario) certification is required.
  • World Host/Super Host certificate or other similar customer service programs are an asset.
  • Proven selling, marketing, and service skills in a dining, retail, or promotions environment.
  • Effective public speaking skills and presence.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds, specifically a fully loaded serving tray.
  • Knowledge of specialty food and beverage items.
