Job Summary:

The Pipe Inspection Trainee in NOV Inc. will assist Operators in the inspection and repair of used tubular goods and is responsible for pipe handling, cleaning, and inspection and repair of used tubular goods, including drill pipe.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Operators in the utilization of Wellhead Isolog, Wellchek, and Classifax Sonoscope Isolog units.
  • Maintain thread and magnetic particle inspection accordingly; removal and application of thread compounds.
  • Clean and repair pipe threads, drift, and sort tubulars.
  • Responsible for coupling removal and replacement together with unit calibration.
  • General housekeeping, shop cleanup, and basic unit maintenance.
  • Adhere to all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures, and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in training programs as required by the company.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Prioritize physical labor and the ability to lift up to 23 kilograms.
  • Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
  • Standard First Aid and H2S Alive training preferred.

HSE Requirements:

  • Work in a shop and yard environment.
  • Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature/humidity.
  • Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner.
