Drywall Finisher and Installer

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher to join our team at Smart Choice Drywall Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drywall installation, finishing, and repair.

Responsibilities:
  1. Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints: Ensure a smooth finish on drywall surfaces.
  2. Clean and prepare surfaces: Remove debris, dust, and other contaminants from drywall surfaces.
  3. Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings: Install metal ceiling grids and panels to create a seamless ceiling surface.
  4. Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required: Add a professional touch to drywall surfaces with custom designs.
  5. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets: Ensure accurate cuts and installations of drywall sheets.
  6. Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency: Prepare the perfect mixture of plaster for a smooth finish.
  7. Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists: Ensure drywall sheets are securely attached to studs or joists.
  8. Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry: Achieve a smooth finish on drywall surfaces.
  9. Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings: Add a textured or acoustic finish to drywall surfaces.
  10. Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound: Ensure a seamless joint between drywall sheets.
  11. Install exterior and interior steel studs: Install steel studs for a sturdy drywall installation.
  12. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools: Install metal stud framing and furring for a professional drywall installation.
  13. Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation: Ensure a dry and comfortable environment with vapour barriers and insulation.
  14. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages: Work safely at heights using scaffolding or swing stages.
Requirements:
  1. Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  2. 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  3. Work site environment: At heights, dusty
  4. Work setting: Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Residential, Various locations
  5. Work Term: Permanent
  6. Work Language: English
  7. Hours: 35 hours per week
