Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Child Care Worker to join our team at Holyrood After School Care. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that support the well-being of children.
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Encourage children to express their creativity through various media.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or guardians.
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) certification or equivalent experience.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Vulnerable sector check.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment.
