Position Summary:
The Director of Culinary and Support Services will lead the culinary and support services, delivering exceptional hospitality experiences related to dining and housekeeping for residents and guests. This role will ensure the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality services, meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve organizational goals, objectives, and key results.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships that support and strengthen the organizational culture.
- Model leadership behaviors and inspire others to do the same.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, education, and coaching to team members to deliver exceptional culinary, housekeeping, and laundry services.
- Support community leaders on menu changes, focusing on site demographics, resident-specific dietary requirements, and community preferences.
- Lead the creation and implementation of seasonal menus that meet regulatory requirements, resident needs, and community preferences.
- Research and implement industry best practices.
- Develop and monitor standards, policies, and procedures.
- Manage budgets, labor costs, equipment, and supplies while maintaining quality.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing and rebates.
- Provide direction and support for community-level implementation of activities, presentation, and meal service.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality ingredients, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met and exceeded.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation of team members.
- Develop and implement orientation and onboarding programs.
- Monitor and report on performance.
- Participate in disaster and emergency planning.
- Develop a positive, quality, and resident-focused service culture.
- Participate in quality improvement programs.
Qualifications:
- Culinary Arts or Food Service Management or Hospitality Management degree.
- Inter-provincial (Red Seal) designation or equivalent.
- Food Service Nutrition Management certification.
- Food Safe level 1 and 2.
- 5 years of management experience in food and beverage, hospitality, or support services.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to travel and spend extended periods in various communities.
