Job Summary:

The Crusher Labourer is a key member of the operations team at Hudbay Minerals' Copper Mountain Mine. This role is responsible for providing support to the crusher operators, ensuring the smooth operation of the crushing process, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist crusher operators in their duties, including cleaning build-up material and monitoring belt conditions.
  • Perform operational checks and report maintenance requirements to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination and execution of tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Participate in daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives to promote a culture of safety and excellence.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating machinery is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5/7N driver's license and access to personal transportation required.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment, including noise and working in dusty and wet environments.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including heavy lifting, awkward positions, walking, and standing.
  • Regular exposure to lifting and moving items and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

$31.29 per hour.
