The Opportunity

Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Crusher Labourer to join our team at the Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This is a 7x7, 12-hour, day and night shift schedule position.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Mill Operations Supervisor, the Crusher Labourer will support the crusher operator by cleaning build-up material, monitoring belt conditions, and adhering to all safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice safe work behaviors and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements in all areas while on mine property.
  • Follow all Company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain good housekeeping of the crushing area using a variety of tools.
  • Support both crusher operators in their duties.
  • Carry out operational checks.
  • Report maintenance requirements and concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members.
  • Perform any other responsibilities related to the Crusher Labourer role as required or assigned by the department head.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating machinery, considered an asset but not necessary.
  • Possess a valid Class 5/7N driver's license and have access to personal transportation.
Working Conditions
  • Frequent exposure to uncomfortable conditions associated with the work environment, such as noise and working in dusty and wet environments.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including heavy lifting, awkward positions, walking, and standing.
  • Regular exposure to lifting and moving items and equipment up to 50 pounds.
Rate of Pay

$31.29 / hour
