Research Associate

The expected annual salary for the part-time position is $42,000 at 60% FTE. The Research Associate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Lead a team of researchers by providing technical and scientific guidance
- Prepare and deliver periodic reports for research sponsors and stakeholders
- Manage and develop Biomass/Bioenergy R&D programs, supported by key external sponsors such as industry and non-profit foundations
- Collaborate with the BBRG team to enhance research-funding opportunities, including international prospects
- Partner with the Biomass and Bioenergy Research Group PIs to create and implement a strategic vision for the Biomass/Bioenergy portfolio
- Foster strategic relationships with national and international laboratories, companies, and universities
- Utilize leadership, strategic, technical, financial, and operational expertise to ensure projects are implemented and completed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while identifying opportunities for national and international collaborations
- Mentor and train undergraduate and graduate students in research planning and experimental work
