Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Strategy and Architecture Lead to join our team at the Ministry of the Solicitor General. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cloud strategy, designing cloud applications, and leading cultural change required to coordinate and facilitate cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement cloud strategy and architecture for large-scale, complex projects
  • Design and develop cloud applications, including architecture, security, coding, testing, and documentation
  • Lead and manage the deployment, automation, maintenance, and management of custom-built and acquired Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions
  • Oversee technical project plans, budgets, schedules, and activities
  • Perform complete analysis, design, and modification of operational procedures and system processes to improve efficiencies, security, and quality of service
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the development and building of custom DevOps solutions and solutions to support end users, project teams, and technical staff
  • Develop proposals, lead consultations with business areas, and provide advice on system options, risk, impact, and costs/benefits
  • Lead and conduct technical research projects on current and emerging technological trends, associated standards, directions, and I&IT administrative policies and procedures
  • Provide technical functional leadership, expertise, mentorship/coaching, and direction to less senior team members
  • Assist with managing post-implementation product support and oversight of best practice for support and maintenance work
Requirements:
  • Extensive skills and understanding of end-to-end cloud native solutions, including design, development, deployment, and integration for large and complex solutions in Azure cloud
  • JavaScript/Typescript/NodeJS experience is a plus
  • Proficiency and expertise in database architectures, data modeling, and data migrations, preferably in MS SQL
  • Experience with GIT source control management, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Azure Pipelines
  • Knowledge of network protocols, n-tier network topology, cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools such as Grafana, ElasticSearch, Azure Monitor, Azure application insight, etc.
  • Ability to lead teams in application development, including architecture, security, coding, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and cloud administration
  • Ability to support production systems, work with end users and technical teams to investigate and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
  • Evaluate and recommend architectural strategies for acquiring, developing, integrating, and implementing complex technical solutions
  • Assess, diagnose, and resolve issues impacting the information technology infrastructure
  • Address operational problems of digital products
  • Use data analytical tools (such as Python, SQLs) to analyze large volumes of data and generate various reports
  • Ability to assist clients to analyze data discrepancies by navigating complex business processes
  • Excellent written skills to prepare project reports, various design/development documentation
  • Ability to lead/facilitate technical discussions with senior managers, vendors, customers, and other technical staff
