We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead for Cloud-Native Applications to join our team at Bank of Montreal.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the development of cloud-native applications, leveraging their expertise in full-stack development and technical leadership. They will be responsible for guiding cross-functional teams, managing software development lifecycle, and ensuring high-quality technology solutions.

This role requires strong knowledge of server-side programming languages, frameworks, and database integration. Experience with RESTful API design, event-driven messaging, and multithreaded solutions is also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Translate user requirements into technical specifications, conceptualizing and facilitating technical requirements from users.
  • Analyze, develop, test, and implement new software programs, documenting entire software development life cycles.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of systems and core software components.
  • Ensure code configurations adhere to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards.
  • Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/eco-system, assessing associated impacts on process, data, and risk.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong emphasis on Python.
  • 3-4 years of experience building applications in the Capital Markets industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong knowledge of server-side programming languages and frameworks, such as Node.js, Python, .NET (ASP.NET, .NET Core, C#), or Java along with experience in database integration.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Previous experience in building highly scalable & distributed applications.
  • Experience using Synthetic products - SwapOne or Imagine.
  • Cloud Expertise: Strong familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based applications.
