Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Radiological Technologist to join the Radiology team at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC, and supporting Vancouver General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic/fluoroscopic and medical imaging procedures/techniques and related duties, observing safe radiation protection practices.
- Receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the Radiology Information System (RIS), prepare patients for examination, operate radiographic and computerized imaging equipment, and monitor patient during procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms and monitor equipment performance.
Qualifications
- Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging equipment.
- Ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.
- Demonstrated knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
