The Brick is a dynamic Insurance and Warranty Finance team seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our ranks. With a proven track record of analytical experience and a minimum of five years of expertise, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting directly to the Controller, Insurance and Warranty, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for carrying out various accounting functions with an emphasis on reporting. This role requires the ability to work independently, efficiently meet deadlines with minimal supervision, and demonstrate a strong commitment to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate Client Revenue, taxes, and commission expense spreadsheets on a monthly basis
  • Assist in the month-end process by preparing and uploading journal entries
  • Ensure general ledger detail is up-to-date and complete daily/monthly reconciliations
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts prior to the month-end close
  • Prepare inter-company banking transactions for bank transfers
  • Reconcile bank, investment, premium receivable/payable, and other accounts
  • Cash Management, including recording deposits, AR collections, and cash flow forecasting
  • Coding invoices and payment vouchers for approval and payment
  • Perform variance analysis as required
  • Support the annual budget process
  • Assist with month-end financial statements and annual audit
  • Support the year-end close process
  • Develop financial models and process improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • A CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program is highly preferred
  • Experience working in an insurance accounting environment is advantageous
  • Proficiency with MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, is essential
  • General ledger functions, GAAP, and the month-end/year-end close process knowledge is required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting goals and deadlines, is crucial

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
