About the Role:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preadmission screening of surgical patients to ensure they can proceed with scheduled surgery
  • Assess patients referred to the designated clinical outpatient clinic and collect information from various sources
  • Makes a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determines whether it can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention
  • Plans, performs, and evaluates nursing interventions and care; coordinates nursing care for the patient; sets priorities, assigns, and delegates tasks to support staff

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved Nursing Program recognized by the Canadian Nurses' Association with current practicing registration as a British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Two years' recent, related experience in the education, monitoring, and management of participants in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, including exercise training and experience with ECG Telemetry monitoring
  • Completion of or eligible to obtain American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certification
