About the Role
As an ICU nursing professional, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated and experienced team of healthcare providers who share your commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in our acute medical unit. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patients and collecting information from various sources to make a nursing diagnosis and determine appropriate nursing interventions.
- Collaborating with patients and their families in developing the care plan and encouraging family participation.
- Participating in the care and discharge planning process for patients.
- Coordinating nursing care for the patient; setting priorities, assigning and delegating tasks.
- Collaborating with interprofessional care team members in identifying and resolving issues.
- Teaching patients and families about illness prevention and health maintenance.
- Plans and discusses referral information with patients and their families.
- Documents assessments, nursing diagnosis, observations, interventions, and outcomes according to practice standards.
- Participates on nursing committees and quality improvement activities.
- Acts as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff and students.
