We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. As a Child Care Professional, you will play a vital role in building healthy, strong, and connected communities through nurturing environments for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care to children, including toileting, first aid, and medication administration.
  • Actively engage with children, ensuring supervision and safety in a group setting.
  • Plan and implement play-based learning in accordance with the YMCA Curriculum.
  • Ensure positive communication with families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Provide an inclusive environment, supporting children with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
  • Adhere to work schedules, maintaining program ratios and providing adequate notice for unexpected changes.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations.
  • Availability requirements: minimum of 2 full days per week or 3 afternoons.
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and participate in physical activities.
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
