About the Role

The Ville de Rimouski is seeking a highly skilled Urban Planning Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our urban planning department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our city.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement urban planning strategies to promote sustainable development and community growth;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address urban planning challenges and opportunities;
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform urban planning decisions and policies;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, developers, and other stakeholders to promote urban planning initiatives;
  • Provide technical expertise and support to urban planning projects and initiatives;
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging trends in urban planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or a related field;
  • Minimum of one year of experience in urban planning or a related field;
  • Membership in the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec or in the process of becoming a member is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of urban planning legislation and regulations in Quebec;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
