Job OverviewAs a Process Control Technician, you will report to the Team Leader, Electrical Services, and work a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation at the Ekati mine site. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support services to monitor and improve process control systems and instrumentation performance site-wide.
You will be part of the Electrical Services Team, which consists of various trades. As a member of the team, you will be expected to assist and work with other disciplines to achieve our goals.
Key Responsibilities- Apply sound technical and investigative practices to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Repair and calibrate field devices to ensure optimal performance.
- Focus on preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency.
- Develop and implement performance monitoring and testing programs to analyze results and identify areas for improvement.
- Journeyman Instrument Mechanic certification (Red Seal) or a diploma in a recognized Instrumentation Technical program.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical capacity, preferably in the precious stones process industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a broad knowledge of equipment, machinery, and processes used in the industry.
- Specialization in Process Control and Instrumentation systems, with experience in Modicon PLC and Wonderware HMI control systems, and knowledge of database systems such as SQL is considered an asset.
- Experience with VMware, Cisco Network switches, and administering Windows systems is also an asset.
