Job Overview

This is a challenging opportunity to work with the City of Toronto's Parks, Forestry & Recreation division as a Senior Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating park projects, providing leadership, and expertise in administrative, professional practice, and technical matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project teams, including client representatives, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, to implement park projects.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in administrative, professional practice, and technical matters related to landscape architecture and open space design.
  • Verify and prepare project scopes, confirming program requirements with clients and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communications, project reviews, and distribute project updates across all PF&R branches.
  • Prepare and/or comment on Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations, and Tender Documents for consultant and contractor selection.
  • Evaluate proposals and construction tender documents, conduct consultant interviews, and make recommendations for award.
  • Prepare reports for consideration by Standing Committees and City Council.
  • Facilitate project-related meetings and liaise with client representatives, project partners, Advisory Boards, stakeholders, and Councillors.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a degree or diploma program in landscape architecture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive project management experience in park/landscape architectural projects.
  • Extensive experience in construction means and methods, related materials and systems, contract administration.
  • Considerable experience reading and interpreting site plans and other related documents.
  • A valid Ontario Driver's License, Class "G".
