About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Mircom Group of Companies. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and seizing new business development opportunities in the Mid-West region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth and increase market share in the Mid-West territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Engineered Systems Distributors (ESDs) and other key stakeholders in the industry.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through sales events, trade shows, referrals, and industry contacts.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop sales strategies and plans to convert potential customers.
  • Network and develop relationships within our marketplace and within vertical markets.
  • Maintain current relationships by supporting customer service efforts, conducting follow-up calls, profiling dealers, educating customers, and staying up-to-date on new developments in the industry.
  • Offer and attend sales calls with ESDs, provide value engineering on RFQs, and provide quotations.
  • Proactively drive market intelligence gathering, uncover opportunities in growth verticals, and deliver sales wins in these growth areas.
  • Assist in implementing training in technology, products, sales skills, project registration, and other efforts.
  • Participate in industry events, including trade shows and association programs.
  • Visit with and provide lunch & learn sessions to the A&E community to promote visibility, awareness, and recognition of Mircom products.
  • Attend and contribute in Trade Association Meetings.
Requirements and Skills
  • 1 to 3 years of sales management experience.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a similar field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the fire/security or similar industry.
  • Self-motivator with a proven organizational track record.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of PC-based applications (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft AX CRM software would be an asset.
  • Possess a current valid driver's license.
  • Hold a NICET certification is a bonus.
  • Social media savvy.
  • Technically proficient to review and discuss project plans.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory, including some overnight and air travel.
  • Must reside within the territory mentioned for the role.
